And just WHEN is a loss of services important enough to start advocating? * They took my Home Care Allowance and I didn't advocate (others will do it, right?) * They reduced my SLS waiver benefit and I didn't advocate (others will do it, right?) Question - will you start advocating when they cut all services to everyone? But, by then, it will be too late. Oh, I forgot. Others will do that. Isn't it always "others?" The more supports that are removed, the busier one is. The busier one is, the less one can advocate. The less one advocates, the more they take away. |
This is the system with which we must deal!!

"I fear retaliation because the [Metro area CCB], since it operates as a "non-profit", is not subject to any oversight by the State. There is no way to report anyone from the [Metro area CCB] for review. They are often slow in providing answers or provide wrong answers and then retaliate against consumers when consumers call the State. I try not to complain but have in the past."

Letter from the Colorado DMV in Response to a Complaint from PAD-CO
"The parents' experience at the Prince Street and Arapahoe Road offices was clearly unsatisfactory. The poor customer service at these two offices was not within the standards expected at our 38 Colorado Department of Revenue's Division of Motor Vehicles driving license offices as well as the 18 county offices that operate under a memorandum of agreement with us"
Letter from PAD-CO to the Colorado DMV and Offices on Prince Street, Pierce Street, Arapahoe Road and Cottonwood Drive re: Services
"She very rudely informed me that she would not talk to me and she ordered my son to pick up the telephone on our side while she picked up the one on her side so that I could not hear what was being said. My son's answer to most questions from anyone is "I guess so" or "I'm not sure". She then thrust a piece of paper in his hands which he looked at and gave it back to her and said "I'm not . . . "
